LAB001

LAB001 is Kolab Project’s flagship retail location in Lloydminster Saskatchewan in 2019. Designed in collaboration with Toronto-based studio IV, the space was approached with the hope of creating not only a shoppable destination, but a transformative one. A storefront that didn’t simply house branded items for purchase, but was in itself an extension of the brand. An experience rather than an exhibition. Inherently, a brand is more than simply a logo. It’s an ever-evolving story reflected in, and reinforced by, every touchpoint within the customer journey.

With sensitivity to the town of Lloydminster and the store surroundings, we aimed to create a space that looks both forwards and backwards: a reflection of the Canadian cannabis industry at large, recognizing those who came before us while imagining where we could go next. LAB001 is an organic intersection of culture, experience, and social activity that invites participation.
